Teresa Mar (Barcelona, Vienna)
The Tree Woman
In her room, the artist invites the viewer to a direct encounter with her wall-encompassing collage. Using many images, she constructs her own picture as a cut-and-paste collage and thereby makes use of the latest developments in the language of pictures. With the help of technology she explores the ins and outs of dimension and abstract possibilities as a creative architect.
Color and shape come face-to-face with black-and-white and the linear; that is to say sense perception meets the intellectual and together complement one another as two decisive poles. She wishes to express that abstraction lies within perspective, which is subtler in the color picture than in the black-and-white image. Decide for yourselves; here your eyes are allowed to wander.
