The Arte Luise – Your Hotel in Berlin Mitte

Bright room with double bed in the Arte Luise Hotel Berlin Mitte

Where to stay when visiting Berlin for the first time?

That’s often the first question travelers ask when planning their trip to Germany’s capital. Naturally, you’ll want a central location to reach all the must-see sights easily – without spending too much time underground in U-Bahn or S-Bahn trains. Berlin is a vast city, that’s for sure. While many cool neighborhoods are scattered throughout, most of the main attractions are concentrated in the district of Mitte – the very heart of Berlin. This area is home to numerous restaurants, bars, cafés, shopping venues, and some of the city’s best hotels – like the Arte Luise Art Hotel. Guests who stay here find themselves immersed in what feels like an art gallery. Every corner of the hotel is adorned with artwork. A unique experience you won’t want to miss!

Discover our hotel and extraordinary rooms

From the moment you check in at our hotel in Mitte, you’ll be welcomed in the lobby by sculptures and art installations. A philosophical journey through the stairwell leads you to rooms and suites in the upper floors of our 19th-century building. Each of the 50 rooms has been individually designed by a different artist. Choosing just one is a challenge – you’ll want to see all 50 art-filled spaces for yourself. No two rooms are alike. For example, compare the room “The Poor Poet” by Berlin-based artist Andreas Paeslack with “Glamour” by Heiner Meyer from Bielefeld.

In Room 300, “The Poor Poet,” the spirit of Carl Spitzweg – a contemporary of this house – lives on. Andreas Paeslack created a three-dimensional reinterpretation of Spitzweg’s famous painting, allowing guests to become part of the scene themselves – the poet in the painting.

In Room 207, “Glamour,” the golden age of 1950s and 60s Hollywood comes to life. A portrait of Audrey Hepburn gazes over the bed, a crystal chandelier hangs from the ceiling, and a vintage dressing room mirror transports you to a different world.

Of course, free Wi-Fi is available throughout our beautiful hotel. So, you can easily book your next stay with us and try a different room or suite. Or maybe you’ve already found your favorite?

Dining Next Door: HABEL Restaurant at The Reichstag

Just next to the hotel, the HABEL am Reichstag restaurant takes care of your culinary needs. Here, guests enjoy regional specialties with a Mediterranean twist in a charming vaulted brick interior. Whether you’re in the mood for breakfast, a warm lunch, or dinner – HABEL is the perfect spot to start your sightseeing day with a hearty meal before heading out to the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, or Potsdamer Platz.
